Prayer of Francis of Assisi

Aug. 20, 2016

Lord, make me an instrument of thy peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
Where there is sadness, joy.

O divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
To be consoled as to console,
To be understood as to understand,
To be loved as to love;
For it is in giving that we receive;
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
It is in dying to self that we are born to eternal life.

Prayer for Protection

Jul. 15, 2016

Lord, we come to you today in the name of Jesus. We ask you to  protect our nations and our neighbourhoods from miscreants and terrorist attacks. We pray Lord that you will give wisdom to the border security agents and the police force to be able to identify and prosecute potential terrorists. We pray for governments with a back bone who will take the issue of safety of their citizens to heart and would implement laws and sanctions against terrorist organizations and potential terrorists. We also pray for those law enforcers so that they would be free to execute their duties and for your shield of protection over them. We pray for a hedge of protection over our nations so that the enemy would see the prescence of the Lord and back off. You said the gates of hell would not prevail against your Church. We take authority over every potential demonic attack over our nations, our citizens and the law enforcers. You said you have given us authority over all the power of the enemy. We excercise our authority and we command you satan in the name of Jesus to retreat from your attacks against our nations and our citizens. We plead the blood of Jesus as a shield of protection around our borders. We thank you Lord for giving your holy angels charge over us. We pray or your comfort over those that mourn in Zion. In Jesus name we ask this. Amen.

Prayer for National Security

Jul. 9, 2016

Dear God,

We approach your throne of grace this day in Jesus name. We ask you to protect our Nations Lord. As we see the ravages of satan and sin in the form of violence on the streets of our Nations we ask for your divine protection over the inhabitants of our  nations. We ask for a healing of the people's hearts. We know that violence is not caused by inanimate objets but rather caused by the wickedness in people's hearts. We pray that all hatered in the hearts of people will be purged. We cry out O Lord for a divine intervention in this situation. We plead for revival Father. We pray the hearts of people will be changed O Lord. You said in your word " The heart of man is exceedingly wicked" You also promissed to give us a new heart Lord. We pray that you would take out the heart of stone and replace it with a heart of flesh in all our lives. You said you will write your laws in our inward parts. Let your laws be written in our hearts Lord. If only our hearts were filled with your love, there would be no room for anger, hatered, fear, malice and vengence. We leave justice to you the Judge of all the earth and we pray the people will not take the law into their own hands creating havoc in the streets and murder. O Lord God Thou hast made the heavens and the earth by thy great power. O Lord God, thou hast made the heavens and the earth by thine outstreched arm. Nothing is too difficult for thee. Great and mighty God, great in counsel and mighty in deed, nothing , absolutely nothing is too difficult for thee. Secure our nations, secure our borders and change the hearts of the people wherein violence, hatred , fear and chaos originate. Fill our hearts Lord with your love. In Jesus name we ask this. Amen.

Prayer for sleep and rest

May. 27, 2016

Lord we approach your throne of grace once again in the name of Jesus. Your word says in Psalm3:5 I lay down and slept and I awoke for the Lord sustained me. Lord we pray the same would apply to us as well. As you know Lord, our bodies need to sleep to function properly. I pray that you give us a good night's sleep. There are so many of your children struggling with sleep. We take authority on the enemy's attack on our sleep. Psalm4:8 I will both lie down in peace and sleep for you O Lord make me dwell in safety. Lord we bring your word before you as you have said and we claim our sleep. We take back what the enemy stole from us. We take back our rest and refreshing. We reclaim our sleep so our bodies can be refreshed and renewed. Lord, we commit our cares over unto you. We lay our burdens over at your feet. We release unto you the cares and concerns of the day. We give you all our worries and our cares. We cast all our cares on you for we know you care for us. We plead the blood of Jesus as a covering of protection round about us and say to the enemy 'back off in Jesus name'. As the Psalmist says "I will lie down and sleep for the Lord sustains me and makes me to dwell in safety" Thank you Lord for granting unto your children sleep in Jesus name.

Prayer for comfort and consolation

May. 7, 2016

Father God, we approach your throne of grace  today, clothed in the righteousnesss of Christ. We ask that you would be our shield and buckler. We pray for you comforter, the Holy Spirit to comfort those who mourn in Zion. As the song says "you have given me the oil of gladness, a garment of praise instead of mourning, A shining crown instead of ashes and glory in the face of despair.When my life was without purpose, you gave me a reason to live. Now my heart is full of thanksgiving for all of the riches you give. I delight grealy in you, my soul rejoices and sings. For you took my empty life and filled it with every good thing" We thank you Lord for "the oil of gladness" in the face of despair in our lives. We thank you Lord foryou anointing that breaks the yokes of bondage in our lives. We take authority over sorrow and sadness and ask you to fill our cups Lord and come and quench this thirsting of our souls. Bread of heaven fill us till we want no more. Pour your Spirit fill us once again. We give you thanks and praise for being our comforter and a friend who sticks closer than a brother. In Jesus ame we pray Amen.
