Baptism of fire
Luke 3:16
John the Baptist: I baptize you with water, but One is coming—One far more powerful than I, One whose sandals I am not worthy to untie—who
will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.
Acts 2:2-4
Then when the actual day of Pentecost came they were all assembled together. Suddenly there was a sound from heaven like the rushing of a violent wind, and
it filled the whole house where they were seated. Before their eyes appeared tongues like flames which separated off and settled above the head of each one of them. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in different languages as the
Spirit gave them power to proclaim his message.
The first verse above indicates that John the Baptist proclaims that Jesus will baptize us with the Holy Spirit and fire. The verses in the book of acts illustrates that this did
indeed happen. The message version of Luke 3:16 But John intervened: “I’m baptizing you here in the river. The main character in this drama, to whom I’m a mere stagehand, will ignite the kingdom life, a fire, the Holy Spirit
within you, changing you from the inside out." The whole purpose of the baptism is to change us from the inside out. To transform us from what we used to be to the image of His Son. The Holy Spirit is also there to enable us to proclaim the gospel with power
and efficiency. The disciples in the Gospels fled and hid for their lives in fear of the Jewish and Roman authorities. However we see that in the book of acts they were baptized with the fire of the holy Spirit and since that experience they boldly proclaimed
the gospel in a hostile world. The early church paved the way for Christianity to flourish in a hostile environment. The true church was watered by the blood of the martyrs. In a way the church in this day is also trying to proclaim the truth in a hostile
environment. We are living in a world which is hostile to the gospel of Christ. If the early church needed to wait for tongues of fire to empower them, how much more do we need the ongoing infilling of the Holy Spirit to function and be effective in this world
which is hostile to Christianity. People need to hear the good news of the gospel. We need the continual infilling of the Holy Spirit in order to be effective. In closing, this resurrection weekend let us continually seek the resurrection life and the
infilling of the Holy Spirit. Have a blessed resurrection weekend. Amen.

Overcoming objections (satan's objections)
The Word of God is full of promises made to God's people. Promises for healing: I am the God who healeth thee. Promises for provision: I am Jehovah Jireh your provider.
Promises for salvation of our loved ones: Believe on the Lord Jesus and you and your family shall be saved. Promises to supply our every need. Promises to take care of our future: Take no thought for tomorrow. Promises for peace of mind: Be anxious for
nothing. Promise to bless the work of our hands: whatever you do shall prosper. The list goes on. We as God's people are to claim these promises for our lives and live victoriously. However we do face an enemy who challenges every promise
we claim and raises an objection to us enjoying the blessings of our heavenly Father. We need to overcome these objections of satan in order for us to enjoy life giving blessings in our lives. John 10:10 states The thief comes to steal kill and destroy, but
I have come to give you abundant life. Notice that the thief cannot steal what you don't have. For example, I do not own a car so no one can steal my car. What that implies is that if the thief is trying to steal your health, finances, peace of mind,
joy, or any other blessing, you already possess it. The enemy cannot steal what you don't already have. In order to live the abundant life that Jesus gives us we need to overcome the objections of satan and stand firm on the promise of God. We believe that
the God who created the universe is well able to care for His own. We believe that all the promises in the Bible are ours. We claim our blessings and establish them in our lives. The bible says The kingdom of God endures violent assaults and the violent take
it by force. We need to establish God's kingdom principles on this earth and need to take our blessing back by force. We need to occupy till Christ returns. We do not battle people rather our battle is with spiritual wickedness in high places. We tear down
the stronghold of spiritual seduction and establish God's kingdom principles on earth. In closing, let us pray: Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. As we know there is no sickness, poverty or crime in heaven and that has to
be established on earth. Overcome the objections of satan and live the abundant life Christ purchased for us. Amen

Bearing fruit
John 15:5
“I am the sprouting vine and you’re my branches. As you live in union with me as your source, fruitfulness will stream from within you—but when you live
separated from me you are powerless." TPT
I am the vine itself, you are the branches. It is the man who shares my life and whose life I share who proves fruitful. For the plain fact is that apart from me you can do nothing at all.
The man who does not share my life is like a branch that is broken off and withers away. Phillips
The verse above clearly shows that we need to be in constant communion with Christ through the Holy Spirit in order to have fruitful
lives. I'm writing this during the Covid19 pandemic when churches are closed across the country. "If your faith depends on a pastor's preaching, then your faith is weak indeed " A.W. Tozer. Many people do not actually have a thriving relationship with
God through Christ, however were addicted to church. These people are currently undergoing a testing in the spirit where their reliance on Christ is tried. The Bible says that there is one mediator between God and man, Jesus. The church, priest, pastor,
and other things or people cannot reconcile man to God. Although we need to fellowship with each other, as iron sharpens iron, and we need to encourage each other and build each other up, our complete reliance should be on Christ Jesus our Lord. As Jesus points
out in John 15, a branch separated from the vine cannot possibly bear any fruit. As dedicated as someone may have been to their church assembly, had they not had a personal relationship with Christ as well, their dedication would have been misplaced. The Bible
says that when Christ who is our life appears, then we also will appear with Him in glory. In closing, trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding and He shall establish your path. Amen. (picture was hand painted by my cousin

Virtuous Women
Proverbs 31:30
Favor is deceitful, and beauty is vain; but a woman who feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.
TPT
Charm can be misleading,
and beauty is vain and so quickly fades, but this virtuous woman lives in the wonder, awe, and fear of the Lord. She will be praised throughout eternity..
As we celebrate international women's day,
let us take a look at virtuous women in the Bible. God outlines what qualities He desires women to have. 1Peter 3:3,4 Your beauty should not be dependent on an elaborate coiffure, or on the wearing of jewellery or fine clothes, but
on the inner personality—the unfading loveliness of a calm and gentle spirit, a thing very precious in the eyes of God. This was the secret of the beauty of the holy women of ancient times who trusted in God. (TPT) Let your true beauty
come from your inner personality, not a focus on the external. For lasting beauty comes from a gentle and peaceful spirit, which is precious in God’s sight and is much more important than the outward adornment
of elaborate hair, jewelry, and fine clothes. An overview of Biblical women takes us from Deborah, a righteous judge who provided wisdom in battle, to Ruth who chose the Lord over her natural family and Christ was a descendant of her, to
Mary who was chosen to bear the Messiah, Esther a queen who interceded for her people, Mary of Bethany who sat and listened to Jesus teaching, Mary Magdalene who was the first witness of the resurrected Savior, and the list continues. God
used women in all capacities. Although the temptation came through a woman, Eve in the garden of Eden, so did the Savior who was the seed of a woman who crushed the serpent. God anointed women in all walks of life. Women
were consulted in battle as with Deborah. Women were in the lineage of Christ as with Ruth and Rahab. Women are given the responsibility of nurturing the new generation.. Someone said: Women are so busy trying to do everything a man can do that they
forget that they were created to do everything a man cannot do. God created men and women with different qualities. Modern day society is trying to blur the distinction between men and women. God created women to be more nurturing.
God intends men and women to complement each other not to compete with each other. Jesus took the time to converse with the woman at the well and lead her to salvation. His first miracle was to turn water into wine at the request of His mother.
God anoints women with a different calling then men. Throughout history women have been intercessors, standing in the gap and praying for revival. Women have been nurturing and raising their children, a noteworthy vocation. In closing,
let us as women embrace our femininity and stop striving to be like men. A shout out to prayer warriors, mothers, wives and all Godly women through out the world. God has made you an original do not become a copy. Also, thanks to the many
men who put up with the quirks of women. Amen.

Earth shattering praise
Acts 16:25-26 (TPT)
Paul and Silas, undaunted, prayed in the middle of the night and sang songs of praise to God, while all the other prisoners listened to their worship.Suddenly, a
great earthquake shook the foundations of the prison. All at once every prison door flung open and the chains of all the prisoners came loose.
To set this verse in context, Paul and Silas were imprisoned for preaching the gospel of
Christ. While imprisoned, they decided to worship God and proclaim His praises. Although back then, prisoners were chained, praising God while still being chained resulted in an earthquake which released all the prisoners from their chains and
flung open the prison doors for all. Not only did Paul and Silas' praise release them from prison, however all the rest of the prisoners were released as well. Praise resulted in freedom from chains and shackles and open doors. If you are looking for open
doors or opportunities, then start singing praises to God. If you are bound by the enemy, start praising God for your freedom. If you are sick and afflicted, praise God for healing. If you are entrenched in sin and bondage, praise God for redemption. Regardless
of what the problem may be, praise is the solution. As a children's song goes, praise Him in the morning, praise Him in the noon time, praise Him when the sun goes down. I have written a couple of years ago about praise bringing the victory in battle back
in old testament times. Praise continues to work wonders and does bring the victory in every battle we are facing. Whether it be a battle for our health, or for our financial success, or for the salvation of our families, or whatever we need to get through
the day, praise is the answer. Although God is not an egomaniac requiring everyone to build up his ego, praising God drives the enemy crazy and he backs off. The enemy is allergic to God's presence and when God steps into the scene, the enemy scatters.
As another song says let God arise and His enemies be scattered. God does arise when we praise Him and victory is ours. In closing, sing unto the Lord a new song. Amen.
