Righteousness, peace and joy...

Sep. 13, 2020

Romans14:17 For the kingdom of God is not a matter of rules about food and drink, but is in the realm of the Holy Spirit, filled with righteousness, peace, and joy.

May religions have rules and regulations regarding food. However true Christianity is more about following the leading of the Holy Spirit in regards to what is righteous. Galatians 5:22 says But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith. The same verse in the TPT But the fruit produced by the Holy Spirit within you is divine love in all its varied expressions: joy that overflows, peace that subdues, patience that endures, kindness in action, a life full of virtue, faith that prevails, gentleness of heart, and strength of spirit. Never set the law above these qualities, for they are meant to be limitless. Many in this world would admit that these are the qualities they are looking for in their lives. However, these are the outward manifestation of the inward workings of the Holy Spirit within us. Philippians 2:13 (TPT) God will continually revitalize you, implanting within you the passion to do what pleases him. When we walk in the Spirit, by following the inward nudgings of the Holy Spirit, and obey God's commands, the fruit of the Holy Spirit will come to fruition in our lives. Our lives will be filled with the peace and joy of the Holy Spirit when we walk according to God's ways. Nehemiah 8:10(VOICE) ...This day is special. It is sacred to our Lord. Do not grieve over your past mistakes. Let the Eternal’s own joy be your protection. (KJV)...for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” God gives us joy, peace and rest in the midst of tribulation. There maybe a storm brewing on the outside, however when Jesus whispers peace the storm stops raging. "Sometimes God calms the storm and other times God calms His child." Anonymous. Many may be facing tumultous situations in your lives. Walking in the straight and narrow way would ensure that God's promises of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost will continue to fill our hearts. Romans 15:13 May God, the source of hope, fill you with joy and peace through your faith in him. Then you will overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. (TPT) Now may God, the inspiration and fountain of hope, fill you to overflowing with uncontainable joy and perfect peace as you trust in him. And may the power of the Holy Spirit continually surround your life with his super-abundance until you radiate with hope! Amen!

If not for the grace of God...

Ephesians 2:8

For it is by grace [God’s remarkable compassion and favor drawing you to Christ] that you have been saved [actually delivered from judgment and given eternal life] through faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [not through your own effort], but it is the [undeserved, gracious] gift of God

We need to remember that we owe everything to the grace and mercy of God. In the words of the songwriter: What do I possess that you did not give to me; What good thing that I have done that you did not ordain;  Everything we have and every exploit we have made in the kingdom of God is through His grace and mercy. As stated in the Bible,  if we want to boast, let us boast in the  Lord. Any revelation we have from the word of God comes from the Lord.  Any good work we do is ordained by him. We cannot take any credit for  anything we do or say since it all comes through the grace of our Lord. Psalm 124: Unless it was the Lord who was for us—
let Israel say—
unless it was the Lord who was for us
when people[a] rose against us,
they would have swallowed us alive
when their anger burned against us.
Then the waters would have submerged us.
The torrent would have swept our lives away.
Then the wild waters would have swept us away.
Blessed be the Lord,
who has not let us be prey for their teeth.
We have escaped with our lives
like a bird out of the fowlers’ snare.
The snare has been broken, and we have escaped.
Our help is in the name of the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.

Just writing a quick reminder to always glorify God for everything. If we stop to think about it, God has let us live on His earth breathing His air for free. Again in the words of the psalmist Let everything that has breath, praise the Lord.  Praise ye the Lord. Amen.
