I have journeyed
Through the long, dark night
Out on the open sea
By faith alone
Sight unknown
And yet His eyes were watching me
Chorus:
The anchor holds
Though the ship is battered
The anchor holds
Though the sails are torn
I have fallen on my knees
As I faced the raging seas
The anchor holds
In spite of the storm
I've had visions
I've had dreams
I've even held them in my hand
But I never knew
They would slip right through
Like they were only grains of sand
Chorus
I have been young
But I am older now
And there has been beauty
That these eyes have seen
But it was in the night
Through the storms of my life
Oh, that's where God proved
His love to me

On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross,
The emblem of suffering and shame;
And I love that old cross where the dearest and best
For a world of lost sinners was slain.
Refrain
So I’ll cherish the old rugged cross,
Till my trophies at last I lay down;
I will cling to the old rugged cross,
And exchange it some day for a crown.
O that old rugged cross, so despised by the world,
Has a wondrous attraction for me;
For the dear Lamb of God left His glory above
To bear it to dark Calvary.
Refrain
In that old rugged cross, stained with blood so divine,
A wondrous beauty I see,
For ’twas on that old cross Jesus suffered and died,
To pardon and sanctify me.
Refrain
To the old rugged cross I will ever be true;
Its shame and reproach gladly bear;
Then He’ll call me some day to my home far away,
Where His glory forever I’ll share.

"Praise the Lord, Praise the Lord let the earth hear His voice. Praise the Lord Praise the Lord let the peoples rejoice. Come to the Father through Jesus the Son and give Him the Glory great things He has done!"

Did you know the word Gospel means good news? So what is the good news? The good news is that Jesus paved the way for us to fellowship with God our creator. Why do we need Jesus to do that? Because our fellowship with God was broken as a result of us a people having a sinfull nature and God being Holy cannot have fellowship with sinful man. Jesus rectified the problem by paying the just penalty for our sin by dying on the cross. He died once for all. There is nothing we can do of our own volition to curry God's favor except to accept what Jesus has already done for us. See section on prayer for some sample prayers of consecration to the Lord.
